Rathin's Homepage

Hello and welcome to my homepage...

Sri Chinmoy passed away on October 11, 2007. Here is a short tribute I have written to my spiritual teacher.

I joined the Sri Chinmoy Centre in Australia in 1996. Discovering the teachings of Sri Chinmoy has proved to be a life-changing experience. By his personal example and through his numerous writings, Sri Chinmoy has inspired me to try and live a different kind of life to the one that I was leading.

As a result of joining the Sri Chinmoy Centre, I discovered ultra-running. I first did the  Self-Transcendence 3100-Mile Race in 2003, sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team, with no previous multi-day experience. I did the race again in 2004, and also in 2005. If you like, you can read my memoirs from the 2003 3100-Mile Race, the 2004 3100-Mile Race, or the 2005 3100-Mile Race. If you're really keen, you can read my (and others) musings on the benefits and drawbacks of running shoe inner soles.

A great resource for information about ultra-running is www.multidays.com, which has news from all over about the sport. It also has an entertaining and informative blog about the 3100-Mile Race.

I have started a page called "Rathin's Daily Run", which is about my (almost) daily running!

The Canberra Sri Chinmoy Centre specialises in putting on running and multi-sport races of all shapes and sizes. You can find out more at the Australian Sri Chinmoy Races site.

Sri Chinmoy's music has come to play an important part in my life. Every day, I sing several songs composed by Sri Chinmoy. According to him, music is second only to meditation in one's spiritual development. Click on the link to read my musings on the subject.

Here is a short article I wrote about my second iPod.
